How the integration works

Where your data lives and how it flows.

The rule that explains everything: your master data is created in QuickBooks Online, and WiseCost reads it. Employees, classes, projects, items, customers, and accounts are all created and edited in QuickBooks Online. Once created there, they appear in WiseCost automatically.

WiseCost uses Classes or Projects to define contracts. When your team logs hours, they select the contract (class or project) and the cost category, which is what makes the time data DCAA-ready.

The flow in one line: create entities in QuickBooks Online → track and approve time in WiseCost → run labor distribution → WiseCost posts journal entries back to QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks remains your book of record; WiseCost is the compliance layer on top.
